We’re continuing to adapt amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and that means our commitment to our patients has only gotten stronger. Our Edina and Minneapolis clinics are still open to treat patients with essential needs, but we’re also pleased to offer virtual telehealth appointments to connect with patients from the comfort of their homes.
OrthoRehab Specialists is now offering the opportunity for patients to conduct a virtual appointment with one of our physical therapists so you can continue progressing towards your therapeutic goals even when you can’t make it into the clinic. Check out the video below to see how it works!
These appointments are easy to schedule and can be conducted from a comfortable area in your home. We’ve worked to ensure these appointments are both secure and HIPAA compliant to make the session seem as normal as possible.
How Does It Work?
If you are interested in setting up a virtual visit, please call our Edina clinic at (952) 922-0330 or our Minneapolis clinic at (612) 339-2041. Setting up a session takes only a few minutes, and we can schedule you for an appointment ranging from 15 to 45 minutes. Prior to your appointment, you’ll receive a text message or email that will explain how to begin the virtual session. Using your smartphone, tablet or computer, you’ll be able to begin a telehealth session and see and hear your physical therapist through a video conferencing system. This allows the therapist to:
- View your movements
- Listen to your concerns
- Diagnose your problems
- Review and progress your home exercise program
- Answer questions you may have
- Give you a plan to continue treatment on your own after the session ends
We also know that everybody’s insurance is different, so while we can’t guarantee that the session will be covered by your provider, it is our experience that many of these sessions are covered by insurance, especially in the wake of the move to social distance. Even in the event that your session isn’t covered by your provider, you can take solace in knowing that the cost of the session will not exceed $60. We want to make these sessions accessible and affordable so you can get the care you need during these uncertain times.
So whether you’re visiting us in house or you’re scheduling your first telehealth consultation, know that we are committed to your health and are following the ever-changing guidelines put forth by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention. We’ll get through this together, one step at a time. For more information or to set up a virtual appointment, give our Edina or Minneapolis locations a call today.
