So, you just braved the Minnesota winter and got your run, walk or bike in? Here are some simple recovery tricks:
1) Get hydrated!
Even though it is cold and you probably didn’t sweat much you still need to top off the tank. Get recovery started by drinking some fruit juice or a sport drink within 15 minutes after you finish. Then switch to good old sugar free water until your urine is pale yellow.
2) Get warm!
Take a bath with 2c. Epsom salts, 1c baking soda and several drops of lavender oil. This will help your muscles relax and detoxify.
3) Get your legs up the wall!
Lie down and place your legs up the wall at approximately a 45-90 degree angle. This will help your body balance after all that pounding in an upright position.
4) Take a deep breath!
Say “aaaahhh” you deserve it! Happy trails!
